Minden, located 45 minutes north of Lindsay on Highway #35, is the county seat for the municipalities of Haliburton County. The community is 138 years old. The early settlers were

drawn here by the vast timber resources of the Highlands. Population, approximately 1200 in winter and swelling in the summer to accommodate cottagers and tourists.
